Dr Bruce-Low teaches across all levels of undergraduate and postgraduate in the Applied Sport and Exercise Sciences subject area. As a BASES Accredited Sport and Exercise Scientist he has previously and continues to support athletes across a number of different sports including Formula 1, Premier League teams in England and Poland, England Ladies football and rugby squads, GB rugby league, GB orienteering and GB wheelchair rugby and Country Cricket. He continues to undertake research across both exercise and sport areas ensuring impact from the outcomes of the research.

I joined University of East London in 2020 from Southampton Football Club where I was Head of Research and Innovation and prior to that worked in universities in Chester and Southampton. I bring a wealth of both academic and practitioner experience with me to deliver employment ready support and experiences for students and research endeavours.
I have led several sport science laboratory installations that involved designing, project managing and delivering on these multi-million pound projects, ensured they achieved BASES accreditation (professional body for sport science) whilst providing delivery of the highest quality service to students and external clients across a variety of professional sports. I am also personally accredited by BASES and am a Chartered Scientist and a professional member of the Physiological Society.
My research is impact driven and is always trying to answer the questions and needs of those I work with. I have and continue to research across the sport and exercise continuum into areas such as elite football, investigating exercise as a tool for making communities more physically healthy across the lifecycle and using high performance models to develop sporting success in African refugees. I supervise PhD students (I have 5 completions) and am currently working with Southampton FC and St Mary's University investigating the effects of cryotherapy on elite premier league players. I am also an expert reviewer for the Journal of Experimental Physiology, Applied Ergonomics, Industrial Health, Evidence Based Complementary and Alternative Medicine, European Journal of Applied Physiology and Applied Ergonomics.
I continue to also develop myself in the area of leadership having undertaken the University of London’s Outstanding Leadership Programme.
