  • Core Modules

    Mental Wealth 1: Academic and Digital Proficiency

    The module will equip you to succeed in both your studies and subsequent career. This includes the development of individual non-cognitive intelligence; digital proficiency; and cultural intelligence.


    People and Organisations

    This module will introduce you to the variety of work organizations. You will also understand and explore the psychological, sociological and economic explanations of human behaviour in organisations.


    Fundamentals of Business Accounting

    This module will develop and prepare you for entry into the professional workplace or further studies in accounting and finance. As part of this module, you will learn and develop a sound basis of theory and principles, accounting techniques and skills necessary as a foundation for further study and practical experience in accounting.


    Business Law

    This module will provide you with knowledge of the constitution and forms of business entities. You will understand the relevant principles of UK law and the legislation governing the formation, structure, and operation of a business and its obligations. As part of the module, your will explore the legal obligations of a professional practitioner and of a professional practice in respect of employees. As you study the module and attend the law clinic, you will be able to analyse problems confronting a business, identify applicable legislation and apply appropriate legal principles.


    Fundamentals of Economics

    The module aims to enable you to develop an understanding of the basic economic concepts, theories, ideas and tools and their real-world application.

  • Core Modules

    Mental Wealth 2: Graduate Employment Competencies

    This module will provide you with the opportunity to document the development of core employability skills and allow students to acquire tangible evidence to support your employability narrative at interviews.


    Intermediate Financial Reporting

    This module will help you to develop and enhance your analytical and critical skills. You will learn and examine financial accounting concepts and international accounting standards. You will also learn key theories and application of international accounting standards that underpin the latest thinking in financial accounting area.


    Performance Management Accounting

    This module will develop your knowledge and understanding of management accounting techniques. You will understand how management accounting techniques can be used to support management in planning, controlling, and monitoring performance in a variety of business contexts.


    Financial Management

    This module is intended to introduce you to the ideas and techniques of running a financially successful business. You appreciate and learn that in order to grow and expand, businesses must both find profitable investments and obtain funds to make those investments.



    The module aims to develop your knowledge and understanding of taxation concepts and principles relating to individuals, partnerships, single and groups of companies operating in the UK and overseas business activities.


    Accounting and Tax Clinic Internship

    This module will give you an opportunity to get experience of a practical operational context where you can apply accounting techniques acquired in earlier modules of study.

  • Optional Modules

    Optional placement

    This course offers the opportunity of year-long placement between years two and three. If you choose to take this option, you’ll spend your third year on a placement with a relevant company or organisation, adding valuable practical experience to your growing academic knowledge. 

    The extra placement year means it will take four years to complete your studies, instead of three.

  • Core Modules

    Mental Wealth 3: Global Enterprise and Consultancy Practice

    This module will develop core employability skills and allow you to develop and demonstrate skills in (i) the analysis of a problem (ii) planning and organising a task, including time management (iii) exercising judgement in the light of observed and published data (iv) compiling a report, (v) teamwork and collaboration and (vi) use of appropriate technologies.


    Corporate Social Responsibility and Ethics

    The aims of the module are to develop a critical appreciation of the key principles of business ethics, corporate responsibility/citizenship and sustainability, and the relation of these to the workplace and encourage you to critique theories of management and leadership from the perspective of ethics.



    The aim of the Module is to enable you to appreciate the nature, purposes, and detailed procedures of auditing and its relevance in today’s commercial environment. In particular, the module aims to develop knowledge and understanding of the process of carrying out the assurance engagement and its application in the context of the professional framework.


    Advanced Financial Reporting

    This module will build on your prior year studies and extend your understanding of corporate financial reporting. In particular, you will develop the professional skills to examine and apply consolidation techniques in the preparation and assessment of group accounts. You will develop the analytical skills to solve complex financial reporting problems. You will also have the opportunity and expertise to consider relevant conceptual issues and the application of accounting standards to such issues.


    Corporate Finance

    This module aims to develop your understanding of corporate financial management decisions in the context of profit seeking organisations. You will also have the opportunity to examine and evaluate how such decisions may contribute to maximising shareholder value.

  • Core Modules

    Mental Wealth and Applied Research

    This module provides the opportunity for you to demonstrate the ability to diagnose and investigate a live, complex business issue from a variety of perspectives, to locate the work within the body of contemporary knowledge, to collect and analyse data, to derive supportable conclusions and to make practical and actionable recommendations for change, improvement or enhancement of current practice.


    Strategic Business Reporting

    The aim of this module is to help you to use their professional judgement to apply and evaluate financial reporting principles in multiple business contexts and situations. The module will equip you with the skills to confidently explain reports and the impacts of transactions to a broad range of stakeholders.


    Strategic Business Leader

    This module is designed to broaden and deepen the knowledge, skills, and professional values expected of business leaders and consultants. Taking this module will develop your organisational leadership and senior consultancy or advisory capabilities and relevant professional skills, through the context of integrated case.


    Advanced Taxation

    The module aims to further develop your knowledge and understanding of UK taxation concepts and principles, to apply professional judgement and communicate appropriately, when providing tax planning advice, relating to individuals, partnerships, trusts, groups of companies and overseas business activities.


    Advanced Auditing and Assurance

    The aim of the module is to enable you to develop their knowledge and skills in advanced auditing, and also analyse, evaluate auditing and assurance engagements in the context of best practice.
