Jolanta's multidisciplinary research merges education, research and practical applications from across developmental neuroscience, neuropsychology and neurolinguistics to facilitate language development and improve the wellbeing of children and young adults.
OVERVIEW
As a Lecturer in Research Methods and Dissertation on MSc in Applied Positive Psychology and Coaching Psychology, Jolanta's module supports students as they set out on their research journey. Ultimately, MSc projects are conducted under the guidance and expertise of a team of research supervisors, led by Jolanta.
Her other duties involve delivering lectures, managing materials and assessments on Moodle, liaising with the Programme Leader and Head of School and working with a team of lecturers in providing the quality standard service to students.
Jolanta's multidisciplinary research merges education, research and practical applications from across developmental neuroscience, neuropsychology and neurolinguistics to facilitate language development and improve the wellbeing of children and young adults.
The focus of her PhD at UEL BabyDev Lab was the neural correlates of speech processing in infants and children from diverse socioeconomic backgrounds. The project involved the use of electroencephalography, eye-tracking and behavioural measures. Based on its findings, the neural network in the brain has been found to be closely linked to language and more broadly auditory development between infancy and primary school age. Currently, her research interests lie in implementing positive psychology strategies to facilitate achieving their full developmental potential.
