    We have dedicated laboratory facilities for engineering, computing and architecture housed in new, purpose-built labs at our Docklands Campus. These provide an ideal environment for students to test theories and master practical skills.

    What we're researching

    Our research work is renowned in the UK and across the world, and we have developed partnerships so we can transfer our knowledge to a range of industrial, commercial, policy-making and government departments.

    As a result, our work has a major impact on IT products and services. We're also improving public awareness of the social, political and financial impact of information and communication technologies.
    Here's a quick overview of some of our research:

    The Secure Software Engineering Research Group covers software protection, cybersecurity, digital forensics, risk management, and distributed systems.

    The Enterprise Computing Research Group covers cloud computing, data centres, energy efficiency, and systems modelling.

    The Intelligent Systems Research group covers the main areas of artificial intelligence: speech, image, and video processing; big data analytics, deep learning, augmented reality, and recommender systems.
