Dr Akshay Kumar

Akshay is a Senior Lecturer and Module Leader of the Course Flourishing in Organisational Systems at the University of East London. Akshay is also a Director and Senior Consultant at Ask Insights. A PhD in Clinical and Positive Psychology, he has been an academic faculty member and head of Self-Growth at IIIT Delhi University (a State University), where he received University Teaching Faculty Excellence Awards 5 years in a row. 

Akshay is a Senior Fellow (Teaching and Research) of the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR, Government of India), and has been involved in various international research projects. He has been awarded certificates of research by Defense and Research Development Organisation (DRDO, Ministry of Defense), Indian Army, Research Council of Norway, Indian Council  of Medical Research and more. He has also been appointed as the Honorary Psychologist and Executive Member of the Disciplinary Committee of Haryana Police (Indian Police Service).

He is an Expert Consultant at Centre for Global Inclusion, USA - Working of 2021 Version of Global Diversity Equity Inclusion Benchmarks (GDEIB). He has also presented numerous keynote research papers in international conferences, including - The American Psychological Association (APA) Conference, San Francisco; International Congress of Psychology, Prague (ICP); Middlesex University Business Conference, London; United Nations Conference, New Delhi; Forum on Work Place Inclusion, University of Saint Thomas, Minneapolis, USA; National Academy of Psychology, New Delhi; American Chamber of Commerce (AmCham); Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM) etc. He has several accepted and published Journal Publications in International Journals like Nature; International Journal of Medical and Health Sciences; Business World; Delhi Psychiatry Journal; Journal of Positive Psychology; Journal of Psychology and more. 

Akshay is also a member editor of The Delhi Psychiatry Journal (A World Health Organisation indexed journal). 

Akshay has been awarded the Emergent Psychologist Award by the National Academy of Psychology and he has also been listed as the one of the top 10 Psychologists of India by LBB India. He   is a Licensed Clinical Psychologist, trained in several modalities like CBT, Clinical Hypnosis, Neuro-Linguistic Programming, Mindfulness, Positive Psychological Interventions and Clinical Interventions. Akshay is one of the pioneering professors to bring Positive Psychology and The Science of Happiness to Indian Universities, an extremely popular module.

He is a consultant, coach and trainer to leading organisations. He along with his team has trained over 20000 people in the space of D&I which is the largest in India, among the highest in the world. Some of those organisations are Google, Amazon, NatWest, PepsiCo, Coca-Cola, SAP, Vodafone, Walmart, Microsoft, Concentrix, American Express, Aditya Birla, Yum Foods, Ernst & Young, TATA, Cairn-Vedanta, PwC, State Bank of India, Diageo, Flipkart, Reckitt- Benckiser, Thales, Royal Bank of Scotland, Bank of America, Intel, IBM and more.
